Note: - Have dancers wear fitted attire (preferably a leotard) to get accurate measurements. - Instruct dancers to stand up straight, and breathe normally. - Tucking in the stomach will result in incorrect measurements. - Please use the inches side of the measuring tape, and when in doubt measure twice.  Learn how to take your measurements: A. Bust : Open arms and measure the fullest part of the bust, keeping tape parallel to ground. Ensure the tape is straight across the back. B. Underbust: This is where a bra band would typically sit under the bust. Again ensure your measuring tape is straight C. Waist : Measure around the narrowest part of your natural waistline (approximately 2 inches above the belly button). This is also where the body naturally creases when you bend side to side D. Hips : Stand with heels together and measure the fullest part of your hips, keeping tape straight all around/parallel to ground. E. Shoulder to underbust: This is from the shoulder point where a bra strap would sit, over the fullest part of the bust to under the bust (where the band of a bra would go) F. Girth : Girth is the most important measurement when determining size. To measure girth, place a tape measure at the top of the shoulder (typically where a standard leotard strap sits), then over the fullest part of the chest, under the crotch and back up to the same shoulder. Please ensure the dancers clothing isn't sagging in the crotch area when taking this measurement, the tape needs to fit close to the body G. Sleeve length/Overarm: The dancer should bend the arm when taking this measurement to ensure a better fit. Hold the measuring tape at the end of the shoulder, then down the elbow and to the wrist H: Bicep: hold the measuring tape around the fullest part of the upper arm I. Wrist: hold the measuring tape around the wrist. This is typically between 5 to 6.5 inches J. Inseam: This is taken along the inner part of the leg. Stand with legs apart and measure from the crotch and down the ankle. K. Outseam: This is taken along the outer part of the leg. Stand straight and measure from the natural waist and down the ankle.
